Oppo Indonesia has opened a new factory in the Tangerang City area, Banten Province. Coming to be named Oppo Manufaktur Indonesia, this new factory is said to have adopted operational standards such as Oppo's headquarters in China.

Having a building area of ​​10 hectares, according to Oppo Indonesia Business Performance Manager Jefry Firman de Haan, this factory has applied the OPS (Oppo Production System) standard which adopted the Lean Manufacturing System.



With this mechanism, Jefry explained, the production process in this factory can run more effectively and quickly, when compared to the previous factory. One of the devices currently being manufactured in this new factory is the Oppo A77s.

"Currently, the production of the Oppo A77s uses three lines and one line can be added during the peak period," said Jefry during a visit to Oppo Manufacturing Indonesia in Banten.

Explained, the peak period is defined as approaching Christmas and New Year.



Furthermore, Jefry explained, the Oppo A77s production process at this factory has used a conveyor belt, starting from the assembly stage to packing. So the production process can run more continuously.

For information, the production process for this cellphone itself starts from the warehouse where the device elements are stored. If desired, elements such as motherboards or covers will be sent to the production line.

Jeffry explained that the process of transitioning elements from the warehouse to the production line at the new Oppo factory is going faster. The argument is, both sides are in the same building, different from the old factory.

"The transfer of elements in this factory uses an elevator to increase time effectiveness. Meanwhile in the old factory, due to another building, the transportation time from the warehouse to the production line is up to 15 minutes," he explained.

Meanwhile, the production line is where several components from the warehouse are assembled into a complete HP Oppo product. On a line, there are many posts filled with operators with different jobs.

There are operators who work to pair elements such as motherboards, cameras, antennas, to do the packing. However, there are also operators who work on elemental or physical testing of the device to make sure there are no problems at all.

At this stage of assembly, Oppo uses machines in several processes. For a day, Jefry explained, one line can process up to 2,800 units of Oppo A77s depending on the standard when it has been decided.

"For its own time, each process has a different cycle time, but we have a standard of 7 to 10 seconds. So every 10 seconds we can produce one unit in the packaging," said Jefry.


In addition to the production room, this factory has a special room that is used to determine the role of the tools that have been made. In the room called Quality Control Lab, the device will be tested with several tests.

Some of the tests that have been carried out are signal experiments, cameras, to body color resistance. In addition, there is also a special side that is used to test the durability of a product.

On the Oppo A77s, Oppo carried out six special tests, namely a drop test from a height, a drop test, resistance to water, radiation, to a signal quality test. This test is known as Oppo Enduring Quality.

In addition, there are a series of other tests such as the power button push test about 500,000 times, the sound button push test about 150,000 times, the 3.5mm audio jack unplugging test about 10,000 times, and the USB port unplugging test 20,000 times.

The experiments were carried out on examples of devices that had been made. If a problem is found, the production process for all the devices will be stopped until a temporary solution is found.

To understand, Oppo Indonesia has opened a new factory in Periuk District, Tangerang City, Banten Province. This Oppo Manufacturing Indonesia factory replaces the original factory which is not far from its current location.

With a building area of 10 hectares, Aryo explained, Oppo Manufaktur Indonesia is the first factory to work in Southeast Asia. He claims, this factory is able to produce 1 to two million units / month.

Furthermore, Aryo explained, one of the products currently being worked on at this factory is the Oppo A77s. Currently, Oppo is preparing three active lines for working on the A77s, and another line will be activated when the demand for this device gets higher.

"An additional line will be activated during peak periods, such as before Christmas and New Year's Eve. In fact, in addition to the additional line, there is also an additional shift to two from 1," explained Aryo.
